Monday- Chapter 1  1.5 Investigate/Rename Numbers. Test Prep.
Tuesday: 1.6 Add Whole Numbers
Wednesday: 1.7 Subtract Whole Numbers
Thursday:  1.8 Problem Solving.
Friday: Chapter 1 Review/Test

MATH HOMEWORK 
Correlates with the daily Math lesson taught each day !  Students took Math Homework Books Home!  They will stay at home all year!  Your child will do the assigned page, tear it out, and return to school the following day!

LANGUAGE ARTS
Daily Language, Everyday!
Monday:  Naming More Than One!
Tuesday:  More, Naming More Than One!
Wednesday: Plural Nouns Ending in Y!
Thursday: "Stepping Up" with Plurals!
Friday:  On the Go with Plurals!

BOOK REPORT  Your child will choose a "Battle Book" to read from our school library.  A book report will be due Tuesday, Sept. 27. I will send the rubric home with your child, a week before the report is due!

SOCIAL STUDIES
We have started making "The Symbols of Utah Booklet!"  Each students will research a county of Utah and report to the class!  This will be done in class!

SCIENCE
We will start out learning about the "Scientific Method!"  Next, we will study "The Utah Biomes!"  This includes indigenous plants and animals of Utah! We have been studying Insects and Spiders!  We will make Anatomically Correct "Edible Insects!" We will take a field trip up Cedar Canyon as we learn about the different land zones, elevations, habitats, and adaptations of each.  We will stop at the Water Shed, Wood's Ranch, and Navajo Lake!!  More information will follow!

Reynolds' Raptor's News August 22, 2016


Hello Everyone!
   It was great to see most of you at Back To School Night!  I've received comments that many of you have read through our classroom rules and procedures!  Thank you for your response! 
Last week we had a blast getting to know each other, and about our classroom climate!  We have already, learned our Class Cheer, a Dinosaur Poem, Interdependence Rap, and The Utah State Song "Utah, This Is The Place!"  We have experimented with Ice Globes, and tested different chemical reactions!  We are filling out our Welcome Back To School Booklet, and played a variety of "Getting To Know You" games.  We also wrote about our Summer Break, and took a Pre-Math Test!
 
BIRTHDAYS!
We have already celebrated two August Birthdays! Josten's and Addison P.s!!  Happy Birthday to both of them!

This week we will start our regular Go Math! The following is a daily schedule:
MATH
Monday- Chapter 1 Place Value, Addition, and Subtraction to One Million. 1.1 Model Place Value Relationships!
Tuesday: 1.2  Read and Write Numbers.
Wednesday: 1.3  Compare and Order Numbers.
Thursday:  1.4  Round Numbers
Friday: Mid-Chapter Checkpoint.
